Ring Sizing
Do you offer ring sizing?
We do offer a resizing service for all pieces that are eligible (some pieces are not able to be altered, but this will be stipulated).
How much does resizing cost?
Resizing starts at £40 but is determined on a case-by-case basis.
How long does it take?
Resizing typically takes one to two weeks. If you need a piece quicker than this please contact us and we may be able to help you further.
Shipping
How fast is shipping to the UK?
We post all our UK items fully insured and with guaranteed next day delivery.
How fast is international shipping?
International shipping takes approximately 7 days with our standard Royal Mail service, however, on occasion, it can take up to 3 weeks. With express shipping via Fedex, packages should be with you within 1-5 days.
Payment
What is layaway?
Layaways are payment plans, allowing you to split the cost of one or more items across a longer time period.
What are your layaway policies?
Layaway is available for any item over £200 that has been listed for more than 24 hours on the site. We ask for a non-refundable 20% deposit and that the piece is paid for in full before shipping. Layovers are eligible for cancellation but you will forfeit the 20% deposit as a restocking fee.

Layover length directly correlates to the cost of the item with a minimum of £100 required monthly. For example a piece costing £300 would be eligible for a 3 month layover with £100 monthly contributions.
However, the maximum layover term for pieces of a value of £600 and above is 6 months. Therefore a piece that is £1200 would be eligible for the maximum 6 month layover, but monthly contributions would be a minimum of £200.
What are your return policies?
We do offer returns on any item purchased from us, providing it is shipped back within 14 days of receipt, and in the same condition as sent. The buyer pays for return shipping.

For international returns it is very important that the returned item is marked as a return on the customs forms. Failure to do so will result in an administration delay as customs fees will be levied on the returned goods. This could result in the parcel being returned to sender or you being responsible for the additional fees incurred.

We do not offer returns on sale items, altered pieces (such as those that have been re-sized) or items that have been on layover.

Please note that any purchase cancelled before shipping will be charge a re-stocking fee equal to the fees incurred by SHJB by the payment provider who facilitated the order. This is not negotiable.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes, you can pay via credit card at checkout.
Will I have to pay customs fees?
International shipments are subject to customs fees when imported from abroad and the onus is on the buyer to settle these additional fees. Often antiques are exempt from import fees but this is not guaranteed and SHJB is not responsible if additional costs are levied by customs.

If customs fees are not paid by the buyer and the shipment is returned to us we will not refund the customs fees to you upon receiving the piece back with us.

Customs fees do vary from country to country so please make sure you are aware of the fees in your territory before purchasing.
Added Extras
Will my jewellery come boxed?
All SHJB items come in a beautiful eco jewellery box.
Do all your pendants come with chains?

About our Jewels
What is the condition of your pieces?
All of our pieces are second hand, and many are antique, due to this they will all show signs of wear. However, we do write comprehensive condition reports for all of our items and take detailed photographs, so please note these when purchasing one of our items.
Do your pieces come with a guarantee?
Our pieces do not come with an official guarantee, however all our pieces are fully checked over before re-sale and we will never knowingly sell a faulty or damaged product. If you ever have an issue with an item purchased from us get in contact and we will always be happy to help.
Are your pieces certified?
All of our pieces are checked and tested by antique specialists and qualified gemologists. However our pieces do not come with an official valuation or certificate unless stipulated or requested.
Are all your pieces hallmarked?
As hallmarking only became law in the mid 1900s and many of our pieces pre-date this, we have a number of items that aren’t hallmarked. These pieces are professionally tested in order to verify their metal content.
