  • A fine pair of early 1900s harlequin drop earrings. These exquisite earrings each hold a sapphire, garnet and topaz. The natural gemstones are beautifully saturated, from the light cornflower blue of the sapphires to the raspberry pink of the oval cut garnets. We can see no evidence of heat treatment to the sapphires, making them a rare addition. The gemstones are in good overall condition with only a few small nicks and a chip to the pavilion of one garnet visible with magnification. The stones are held together with a fine bar of antique gold the earrings move as you move, offering you the perfect day to night piece.

We believe these have either come from a larger suite and been converted into earrings, or that the posts are later additions, but it is a conversion that has been done well and we love the result.
